Festivities

Villalonga celebrates several festivals throughout the year:

  • San Antonio Abad and Santa Barbara (January 17 or next weekend): blessing of animals and day at the hermitage.

  • Moors and Christians: a weekend before the patron saint's festivities in October. Friday with parades, discomobile, charangas; Saturday parades and central events.

  • October patron saint festivities: floral offering to the Virgin of the Fountain, correfocs, despertà, mascletà, cavalcade, procession, firework display, orchestras.

  • August festivities: on August 15th, feast of the Virgin (paella competition), water and foam festival (“water and foam cordà”); August 16th, in the Cais neighborhood, mass, procession and local festival; August 17th, transfer of the Virgin to the church.

  • Easter: Maundy Thursday and Good Friday processions.

  • San Vicente Ferrer: celebrations in the Sant Vicent neighborhood with activities, food and local festivities.

  • Christmas: from December 22 to January 7: cock's mass, concerts, Three Kings parade, family activities.

  • Corpus Christi: annual preparation of a ephemeral carpet with sawdust, paint and natural sand (about ~50 m²), different each year, in the chapel of the Verge de la Font. By Vicent Estevan.
